I’m pleased to announce that we are beginning to generate the first maps from the Mural Mapping Project. Josh Satre ’13, a Swarthmore College student, has given the project a boost by using results from the second survey (2009-2010) in developing a class project this semester. We will build on this preliminary work in developing a first conference paper that we hope to submit for presentation in the coming months. Stay tuned!
Lee Smithey
Lee A. Smithey is an Associate Professor of peace and conflict studies at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania where he coordinates the college’s Peace and Conflict Studies program. He studies social movements, conflict transformation, and strategic nonviolent action. He is the author of Unionists, Loyalists, and Conflict Transformation in Northern Ireland (Oxford University Press), and co-edited The Paradox of Repression and Nonviolent Movements (Syracuse University Press) with Lester R.
